What the Bleep Do We Know is a 2004 film, which is part documentary, part story, and part inspiring visual effects and animations. The plot follows the story of a highly stressed photographer, Amanda, who finds herself facing emotional and extistential obstacles in her life. She begins to consider the idea that individual and group consciousness can influence the material world. The uncertain world of the quantum field hidden behind what we consider to be our normal reality starts to reveal itself to Amanda.
Throughout the telling of her story, many experts share on the connection between quantum physics and consciousness. Ultimately, the movie focuses on how quantum physics allows for the possibility that we, through our own intention, can create our own reality.
What the Bleep Do We Know is a fascinating movie I really enjoyed watching. In this movie, we are invited to have a new way of viewing events that happen in our life. We are challenged to wonder why we may be recreating similar situations over and over again. How come we get stuck in unfulfilling work or attracting unhealthy relationships? The answer seems to be in our misuse of our thoughts.
Science actually shows that the brain does not see the difference between what it sees in it’s environment and what it remembers. What does this means? This means that we build models of how we see the world outside of us and we use those models to make sense of new situations.
All new information we take in from our environment is always colored by our previous experiences we had. Consequently, if we continuously think negative thoughts, we are creating a long-term relationship in that neural net, which gets harder to change. And this neural net becomes a model from which we will view everything in our life.
The good news is we can re- wire our different associations and relationships in our neural net. As Amanda starts to change her thinking patterns, her reality starts shifting as well.
According to the scientist in this movie, we attract to ourselves situations that will fulfill the biochemical cravings of the cells in our body by creating situations that meet our chemical needs. In other words, if we bombard our cells with the same attitude and same chemistry over and over again on regular basis, once the cell divides in a sister cell; it will have more receptors for those particular emotions.
In other words, is we are angry repeatedly; our cells will begin to crave more suffering. So, we will perpetuate the same thinking pattern until we shift our mindset, and change our chemistry. This movie brings light to a new concept that is starting to emerge on the planet. The idea that we create our own realities and that we are not stuck in our experiences. All in all, this movie demonstrates how our mind is a powerful tool we can learn to use to attract what we want in our life. Even though this idea is still very controversial, I think the only way to know if it works is to try it for ourselves.
